The André Jacquart Brut Experience Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs is a wonderful expression of Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay. The production is 60% Vertus fruit (premier cru) vinified in stainless steel and 40% Le Mesnil-sur-Oger fruit (grand cru) vinified in old Burgudy oak casks. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation and ages on the lees for 5 years prior to disgorgement. The dosage is 4 grams per liter, and the current release was disgorged in October 2013.
What I find is the most amazing thing about this wine is its nervy tension. This Champagne has all of the beautiful and delicate aromas of a Blanc de Blancs but also has a wonderful mouthfeel. Aromas of green pear and green apple, lemon curd, toasted bread, white flowers and stony minerality predominate on the nose. The palate contains these elements as well; however, there is a richness to the body and a texture which really makes the wine shine. For anyone interested in enjoying a Champagne that can work as an aperitif or be paired with food (think shellfish, Dover Sole, white meats) this André Jacquart Brut Experience is worth a try.
