Now that Spring is finally in full swing, I had the opportunity to indulge in a good Beaujolais. This offering, the Villa Ponciago Fleurie la Reserve, was the perfect accompaniment to the excellent fare at Bistro du Midi in Boston. The wine is a beautiful translucent red, with aromas of violet, red cherries and blueberries. It has excellent balance on the palate, with ample fruity notes combined with delicate spices and a touch of minerality that brings the wine together.
